Garlic Honey Lemonade

This recipe is adopted from one of my favorite MD herbalists Aviva Romm. In her program, Healthy All Year, she shares this recipe as a way to bring the immune boosting benefits of garlic, honey and lemon in a way that kids will willfully consume.

This beverage can be made hot or cold, but is best given warm when feeling under the weather.

Ingredients

2 cloves minced garlic

Boiled water

Juice of one whole lemon

Honey to taste

For additional electrolytes 1/4 tsp of baking soda can be added

Equipment

Quart size mason jar with lid

Directions

Mince garlic cloves and add them to the mason jar. Boil water and pour over garlic until the jar is filled. Cover and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Strain out garlic and add juice of one lemon.

Add honey to taste and Add 1/4 tsp of baking soda for added electrolytes if you wish.

This delightful lemonade can be enjoyed as much as tolerated. Serve warm if under the weather to promote more warm healing energy to enter the body.

Great for young kids.

Remember never to give honey to children under the age of one.

If you enjoy this recipe please share it with the ones you love!
